Yes, awesome.
We’re getting back into the swing of things with our blogging. We think it would be a good time to give a little expert advice. And what better subject to give advice on than waxing!?! So, we’re going to tell you how to get an awesome wax job!
Firstly, what is the best time to go?
On your worst day, when you’re feeling cranky, water-logged or brain-fogged. A good wax can make you feel as if you’ve stripped off the pain awaken your senses!
Secondly, there’s maintenance.
It’s not hard and very important to avoid those nasty ingrown hairs. Gentle exfoliating is a must! Plugged up hair follicles are unhappy pores waiting to happen. They don’t only get irritated but they grow bacteria, and that’s just gross.
Also, if you have the nerve to shave in between your waxing visits (like I’m sure most people actually do) DO NOT shave in a direction opposite of the way the hair grows. Then you’re just asking for trouble. In all actuality, the less you shave the fewer ingrown hairs you will have. Another great argument for the benefits of professional waxing!
Moisturizing is another important step, and one that we will help you with.
What to do if you get ingrown hairs?
The best things to do with an ingrown hair once you actually have one is to treat it with active ingredients and LEAVE IT ALONE! The more you aggravate it, the worse it will get.
There are several products that claim to help treat ingrown hairs, but the reality is that Salicylic acid is the one active substance that can visibly improve them. It is a dermatological-grade ingredient that exfoliates, moisturizes, clears pores and can help prevent infection.
Whatever you do, don’t use any product that has alcohol, as it will seriously worsen ingrown hairs by drying the skin and closing the pores, plus it just plain hurts!
